Aman Foundation KolhapuR

Educational Programs

We are living in the 21st Century and we need to help individuals with Autism and their families to participate in developing strategies to improve their quality of life so that they can live healthy and happy life. Other than that, we wish to include an elaborative study on the subject matter, especially in mainstream education. Keeping this in mind, we organize various educational programs on autism disorders.

Social Communication Programs

Kids who are autistic and based in mainstream schools might find difficulties to maintain proper social interactions and communications. So, in order to resolve the complications, we need to pay special attention to them. To address such difficulties faced by kids with autism in mainstream schools, our program replicates classroom situations through fun activities and builds upon the social skills necessary with peers and adults.

C.A.R.E

Centre of Autism Resourceful Education

A foundation that views the interdependence of people OF every ability as valuable and enriching, as well as seeking to provide equal opportunities for all.

Despite autism sometimes being viewed as a terrible and tragic condition, our philosophy has been one of acceptance and inclusion. Under C.A.R.E. (Centre of Autism Resourceful Education), we view ASD as a different way of being, sometimes difficult though, but challenging, but nonetheless, as valid as other children.

Our foundation respects this difference and we approach all our activities with this paradigm of acceptance and understanding. Through the Centre of Autism Resourceful Education, we provide the following support or therapies –

Speech Therapy

We supervise various types of therapies including speech therapy that addresses challenges with language and communication. It helps people with autism improve their verbal, nonverbal, and social communication. Our overall goal is to help the person communicate in more useful and functional ways.

Occupational & Sensory Intervention

In addition, a lot of people with autism may have difficulties in motor skills as well as coordination that also may come in the way of learning. We take appropriate strategies with the help of experts to deal with these sensory and motor difficulties that can go a long way in improving learning and general functioning in the lives of persons with autism.

Music Therapy

Autistic children generally face a lot of stress and so exhaling the repressed emotions sometimes gets difficult. In such cases, music therapy helps them to cope with the situations and attain a little bit of peace. We supervise music therapy with the help of experts in this domain that helps children with an Autism spectrum disorder to improve their motor skills in essential areas for the enhancement of their learning abilities and most importantly for emotional relaxation. Music therapy may also contribute to increasing social adaptation skills in children with ASD.

Behaviour Therapy

Behaviour therapy for autism is applied to different types of behavior analysis that are used to help children succeed at reaching positive goals and distinguishing negative behaviors. Optimally, our trained therapists work one-to-one for several hours per week with kids when using this therapy.

Workshop for Teachers on Early intervention of Autism

We organize impactful workshops collaborating with educational institutes for educators as part of our commitment to fostering awareness and understanding of autism which focuses on early intervention of autism.
Recently, 65 dedicated kindergarten and primary school teachers in the district benefited from a workshop conducted by Radhabai Shinde English Medium School, Kolhapur. The interactive session, led by Deepa Shipurkar, President of Aman Foundation Kolhapur provided valuable insights on early signs and symptoms recognizing autism among children, believing that with timely diagnosis, children with autism can still lead fulfilling lives and become self-sufficient. Our president taught different ways to help these kids learn and develop using visual aids. Also Staff and parents along with their children from CARE presented a skit/street play on autism awareness during this workshop.
